Certain Silver Lining

I'm sitting here listening to a Cheryl Wheeler CD on my computer
while I write my journal entry. Entering the 20th century is kind of
fun. 48MB seems to be enough memory. The only problem I'm having is
connecting to the Internet!!!!!! I tried to load the same stuff from
World that I have on the other computer. Instead of loading "World on
the Web" it tells me it did it but nothing shows up on my desktop.
Since it completed after only about 30 seconds, I think something is
wrong. The time estimator says it takes 24 minutes at 28.8K
bps. I'll figure it out. I used to be a brilliant software engineer.
Surely this can't be beyond me.
Now, though, I gotta go have dinner before my Workaholics
Anonymous meeting. I'll journal some more and upload this later --
like when I get FreePPP and Netscape etc. installed correctly.
