How Can Summer Be Over Already?

Aqua Dream pool maintainers are outside cleaning and shutting down the pool for the winter. It seems like just yesterday I was writing about how they were out there opening the pool for the summer. Summer in this context is July 4 through Labor Day and not one minute longer. So the pool is closed, the leaves are turning, with Edouard gone we're watching Hurricane Fran's path, birds are migrating. Ayup, those old Yankees who claim New England has only 2 seasons, winter and July, are right.

I'm slowly getting the Russia travel journal edited and put on-line.

The rest of my pictures are due back from the lab tomorrow.

I've either got a cold or a ragweed allergy attack.

Here I am with the rest of my life stretching out before me like so many blank pages of the heretofore unwritten novel and I have no clue what to do with it. Can I really find enlightenment through cleaning litterboxes?
