After the RMV I dropped off the pictures of the cygnets and the Bobby-home-from-Bosnia-fest at CVS for the cheap 1-hour developing (don;t need professional lab work for snapshots and besides that after my experience with the "professional" labwork on the Earthwatch slides, I might as well just go to Wal-Mart or something. On to Kenyon to pick up the 2nd try at printing the Earthwatch pics. They're not ready. The lady behind the desk tells me, oh it takes 7 to 10 business days. I see Photshop in my future. No sense building a dark room as digital everything will replace chemical everything in the wink of an eye. A digital eye. Maybe they should just eliminate the photographers too and have automatic digital cameras that roam around scanning for interesting images :-)
After Kenyon, on to Starbuck's for coffee with Tom who is headed to the Kerouac commemorative reading tonight at TT the Bears. Why is all this poetry stuff always on a night when I have other commitments? This is the kickoff to Lowell Celebrates Kerouac week, so why isn't the reading in Lowell? The rest of the week's events are in Lowell and 1500 Italians from some beat appreciation society are here. Wild. I still have this dilemma over whether I go to hear Ed Sanders in Lowell on Saturday or to hear Sy Khan in Providence. Nancy favors Sy Kahn but I want to hear Ed Sanders. We better figure this out before Saturday.
Home to my office for some brief real work copying some files and printing up an invoice. Then on to Petco for Science Diet for Wilbur the Wacko. When is The Crucible supposed to be released? All my friends are starting to disbelieve my tale of Wilbur being in a movie because they haven't seen it. I'll probably go to see it and find out Wilbur is on the cutting room floor. They borrowed 13 cats from the shelter when they were filming at Hog Island last summer but only Wilbur actually made it into the movie.
Then laundry, bill paying, dinner, a walk with Joan and Claire, Murphy Brown on tv, Nancy on the phone, bedtime. Where does the time go? Why does everything take so long?
