Back Home

March 24, 1997

Got home yesterday morning on the red-eye. Found out a dear friend had attempted suicide on Friday night and is currently in the hospital. Spent time on the phone with her husband then with her then fell asleep.

Mom woke me to invite me to Easter dinner at her house and to invite the family to my house the week after Easter to celebrate my birthday. I was so tuckered out and jet lagged and disoriented I said of course I'd host the family gathering for my birthday. Later I really woke up and realized my oven is still broken. How will I cook? Better look for some stove top recipes. I could order a new range but remembering the trouble I had getting the new fridge from Lechmere I don't want to count on having it in time. I'll think of something.

I think I went to Starbucks and came home and fell asleep again. Somewhere in there I picked up the vacation pictures at CVS. I slept until the delivery service that American Airlines hired to bring me my lost baggage called to tell me they'd have it to me by 10:45 PM. I started to drift off again when the baggage arrived at 11:10PM. I realize I'm starting at the end of the story. I'll get to it. Really I will.

Slept until 8:00 this morning, did errands, walked with Joan-east and Claire.

Started scanning in and arranging vacation pictures.
