Need I say more?
Alas, I am watching it from home instead of at Fenway partly because my knee is not up to doing the standing room thing and partly because I need to pick up the kids and take Elizabeth to piano. I've got just about every media activated - TV, radio, internet...
I'm going to try to send e-mail updates to Bobby in Bosnia throughout the game because as Kevin put it "He's browserly challenged over there."
I managed to send Bobby play by play for the first three innings then had to leave to go to Groton. I have the buttons on my car radio set so I can switch from WEEI (Boston) to WTAG (Worcester), to WPRO(Providence) in order when I'm driving to/from Nancy's. I switch to WTAG at the Westford town line. Even WTAG is staticky in Groton but I could still make it out.
I listened in the car while I waited for the bus, then forced the kids to listen to it on the way to Mrs. Reed's for piano. Andrea and I stayed outside listening to the car radio for the 9th inning and playing catch with Chickie (a stuffie). Andrea wanted to know if I liked listening to the game. I said yes. She asked: "Is this the Red Sox?" "Yup."
Chickie got his turn at bat with my fabulous announcer voice making it up as I went along. Andrea made Chickie run the bases. On the way home, Elizabeth insisted that Chickie hit a home run every at bat. Chickie got his share of exercise running the bases 100 times for every homer he hit. And Chickie is not even a Beanie Baby - just a regular stuft chicken.
Tom and Julie gave me a new hat. Tom had picked it up at the thrift shop and it didn't fit him. He thought it would look cool on Julie. It didn't. She put it on me. The entire crew of baristas plus my tax accountant (who wandered into Starbucks while this was going on) voted I should keep the hat because I looked good in it. Sean (the yellow hair barista) says Ned will be envious. Where is Ned anyway? With the masters going on I can't wait to see him reenact every stroke Tiger Woods takes. And Clemens did get a groin pull as he predicted...
Oh yeah, I met with my tax accountant this morning (before I ran into her in Starbucks) and my tax damages are not too bad this year. I think I'll survive without selling any stock for awhile. Now to figure out the Antarctica fund - especially since I'll be spending some of the Antarctica fund to go to Hokkaido...
