Andrea and I were walking around Groton Place
looking for birds and turtles. There was a bug on the hood
of my car. Andrea asked why I don't squash bugs. I told her
that the Buddha taught compassion for all living beings on
the path to enlightenment. She asked what is enlightenment.
I said something about peace and calm and stuff.
A few minutes later she asked: "Is that why you use
binoculars even with your glasses? To get enlightenment?"
