fine weather - frost predicted for tonight

In true New England fashion, today's weather can't make up its mind whether 'tis spring, summer, fall, or winter. It was cold this morning so I put on a long sleeve shirt and jeans before I went out to therapy. By the time I was done therapy and over at Starbucks consuming my lunch from the Earthfood Store along with my coffee I was sweltering. After lunch/coffee with Tom and (briefly) Ned, I headed over to Priscilla's to meet her and Joan-east for walkies. I turned around and went home to change to shorts I was so hot. They were kinda surprised I showed up in shorts. Now I'm back in jeans but with a short sleeve shirt. Of course, I'm indoors now for the evening... but anyway, the weather dudes are predicting a frost for tonight. Joan-east and Priscilla were worrying about whether the stuff they planted at the cemeteries yesterday would get frost damage. Me, I didn't plant anything on any graves for Memorial Day so I'm not worried the frost'll get it.

still oddly blocked

I'm still having a hard time writing. In case you couldn't tell.

And I'm still having a hard time reading. I'm currently reading Earth Warrior. It's not hard reading, I'm just easily distracted. Adult onset ADD?

pictures

Got back two rolls of pictures today. My photography seems a little stilted too, just like my writing.

I do have some nice shots of Andrea trying out the roller blades she got for her birthday, her tee ball game, her birthday party, the cove last weekend, Nancy at the Looff Carousel last weekend...

about the cove

Today's Providence Journal-Bulletin has an article about approval of a gas pipeline to run underneath the East Bay Bike Path. This can't be good. Rhode Island DEM is against it, the City of East Providence is against it, just about everybody except FERC and Algonquin Liquefied Natural Gas is against it. Nancy called me this afternoon when she read this in the paper. She suggested I might have to become the Paul Watson of Watchemocket Cove. The City of East Providence is appealing the granting of the permit, so there's still hope. Meanwhile I gotta checkout exactly where on the bile path this pipeline is supposed to go and how close to the wintering grounds of many duck species it's proposed to pass.

later that same evening: 10:40PM

The aforementioned pipeline is supposed to run from Bold Point up the cliffs at Fort Hill and back down to the shore. I looked at the map and determined that the part of the bike path they're going to dig up is not right at Watchemocket Cove. I had a little trouble connecting the Bold Point to Fort Hill description with the stated purpose of the pipeline to connect Sassafras Point with the interstate gas network though. Sassafras Point is directly across the harbor from the cove. I must do more research - like maybe see if DEM has a map...
