The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creative Writing, Laurie E. Rozakis Bookstore Cat, Cindy Wheeler Toad Eats Out, Susan Schade and Jon Buller How to Write a Children's Book and Get It Published, Barbara Seuling The Writer's Digest Handbook of Short Story Writing Volume II Fifty Hikes in Massachusetts, John Brady & Brian White
I bought all of the above at Barnes and Noble today in an unprecedented book buying binge. There's a pattern here. Definitely. Bookstore Cat and Toad Eats Out are for Andrea. Well, maybe Toad Eats Out is for me - for my ever growing collection of toads in literature. The toad who eats out is the same toad featured in one of my all time favorites Toad on the Road. Not only does that rhyme but the toad starts out as a goody two shoes very good driver fresh from driving school and ends up basically as Jack Kerouac on the road with a car full of friends. Very subversive stuff for beginning readers. The eating out one isn't as subversive but is still funny. Now, will buying books about writing help me get unblocked? Maybe I can write about writing ... that seems to be a lucrative field.
