litter boxes

Prancer

Prancer is depressed and does nothing but curl up in a corner of the cage next to the litter box. I even moved her to the top of the dryer - the most coveted position in the shelter - and she sulked back to her own cage.

body fluids

Pumpkin has diarrhea. I thought one of the new cats had a URI but it was just hairball medicine on his nose and walls of his cage - not snot. There are a couple of URI's going around though.

fights

Spunky, Samantha, PK, Slinky, and Kibby in various combinations had a continuous series of fights. I finally had to put Kibby back in her cage over her protests.

stiff knee

I cleaned litterboxes, scrubbed cages, washed dishes until my knee was so stiff I couldn't stand on it anymore.

Purrfect Companions

We had our first adoption in the Purrfect Companions program today. A nice gentleman from the elderly housing building in Newburyport came in and adopted PK. He was thrilled. The program hasn't even been announced at we've got our first placement.

We had a meeting of the PR committee tonight. It was hot. I felt a compulsion to organize the work so we would spend less time chatting in the sweltering heat. I kind of took over the meeting but Martha actually liked it. It's hard for me to sit through a meeting where discussion moves around several topics without resolving any of them, so I just kept asking questions to focus things.

The Purrfect Companions thing is going to be really cool once we really get it going.
