Being sick is boring. Being sick is wicked boring. Especially when I am convinced that everybody in the entire world is going out to some fabulous brunch with fabulous friends surrounded by fabulous ice sculptures. Maybe even with a fabulous jazz band. And me? The quantity of crud draining into my throat from my sinuses this morning ensured that I wasn't going anywhere at all. Sure enough I didn't. I cranked up the Chukchi chants on the stereo, made gallons of hot lemon juice with honey, and looked up every bird I've seen this week in Forbush for the purple prose. So hey, the year rolled over and the world didn't end. Happy New Year! |
