Another sign of spring. I saw my first redwing blackbird of the season today. Make that my first 20+ redwing blackbirds...

 

 

 

 

 

 

The sun was out and the sky was a flawless blue except right along the coast where there was a wall of clouds to the east along the horizon. I hope that's not our weather for tomorrow morning because it looked pretty ominous.

 

 

 

There are two February 29 entries in Thoreau's journal. Neither of them mentions the fact that it's a a leap day or anything at all about calendar calculations. In 1852 it snowed.
